AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TWO DAY TOUR

DAY 1
Depart from your school/church. Arrive in Austin by 9:00 AM. Tour the State Capitol of Texas and if Congress is in Session, you will have the opportunity to sit in and observe our state political leaders in action. We’ll then have a box lunch with drinks on the grounds of the Capitol (weather permitting). After lunch, we’ll make our way to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum where we’ll relive the pages of Texas History. Before leaving Austin, we’ll have a guided tour at the Lyndon B. Johnson Library and Museum. We’ll then head for San Antonio where we will take a tour of the River Walk (Paseo Del Rio) before having dinner at an authentic Mexican Restaurant.

DAY 2
After a continental breakfast at our hotel, we pack our bags and head out first to see the most famous spot in Texas, The Alamo. Afterwards, we’ll see “Alamo – The Price of Freedom,” a 45-minute docudrama about the 13-day siege and fall of the Alamo. Afterwards, we head to the Institute of Texan Cultures to trace the contributions of the varied cultural and ethnic groups that developed Texas. Then we’ll begin our trek home.
